Promotion of Marie C. Grüger to Counsel
We are pleased to announce that Marie C. Grüger, LL.M. (Cape Town) has been promoted to Counsel, effective 1 June 2024.
Marie joined SPANGENBERG (formerly MANNER SPANGENBERG) in September 2021. Prior to that, she worked two years in the Dispute Resolution practice of White & Case. Marie has been admitted to the bar since 2019. She studied in Heidelberg and Switzerland, obtained a Master’s degree in Cape Town and completed stages at Allen & Overy and Noerr during her legal clerkship.
Marie is part of the team at SPANGENBERG litigating a claim for more than 500 million Euros against TÜV SÜD AG on behalf of the survivors and the relatives of the victims of the dam collapse in Brumadinho, Brazil. Recently, she has also been involved in a complex dispute in the defense industry with a value in dispute of over 90 million Euros, with parallel proceedings before state courts and in arbitration. Marie already has her own appointments as arbitrator and has been recognised by Best Lawyers as “Ones to Watch in Germany”.
Starting in July 2024, Marie will spend part of her time in Zurich and further strengthening SPANGENBERG’s network in Switzerland.
